It can be difficult to find weekend activities all age groups will enjoy. This weekend the U.S. Space and Rocket Center is making it easy with 3 terrific exhibits offering something for everyone.
GPS Adventures
GPS Adventures is running now through November 4, 2014. GPS Adventures is an introduction to all things Global Positioning System (GPS) – its history, current uses and future possibilities – all displayed within a 2,500 square foot maze! Visitors experience the thrill of geocaching – hunting for hidden treasure as they navigate from room to room using GPS enabled technology and their code-solving abilities. With wall graphics that represent four distinct locations – urban, city park, back-country and a historic site – visitors are immersed in a unique experience as they find their way.
Spark Lab
Spark Lab is a Smithsonian-sponsored activity geared toward pre-K students. Join us for sessions in the main museum scheduled regularly Friday through Sunday each week. Spark Lab includes hands-on physical science-themed interactive activities.
Two Lines
Two Lines explores the similarities and differences of post-war Korea and Germany through evocative photographs of people, places and events. This powerful collection of 60 unique and distinguished photographs is a pictorial narrative showcasing the history of the two nations divided by war. Germany began the process of reunification after the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989, declaring unity in 1990. Korea, however, remains divided to this day.
