Things To Do Huntsville: BBQ & Blues Cook-Off
The Alabama Tourism Department has designated this the "Year of Alabama BBQ"! Indulge in a Southern culinary delight by sampling BBQ from restaurants across the state from January 1- December 31, 2015.
Welcome spring with the annual BBQ & Blues Cook-Off, held the third Saturday in March in downtown Foley's Heritage Park. In addition to great food, enjoy live blues music, silent auction bidding, arts and crafts, and children's activities. Mostly, enjoy the delicious, finger-licking, grilled concoctions from competing BBQ teams!
Professional and amateur teams compete for trophies, prizes and bragging rights in several categories: Chicken, Anything Butt, Ribs, Just Butts, Sauce and People's Choice. Tickets are $10 and include live entertainment, children's activities, barbecue tasting, silent auction, and arts and craft vendors. Proceeds benefit the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation and area schools.
