How to Get Your Tiny Kitchen Ready For the Holiday Season
Christmas and the holiday season is just right around the corner whether you are ready for it or not. If your
kitchen is small you may want to read a few of these tips on how to survive the holiday season. Don't worry there is still time to get things ready for Christmas even if your kitchen is smaller than you would like. There is no reason to have to order out. There are many ideas on
how to have your kitchen ready for the holidays and a few of those are listed below.
- Before you purchase all of the food your friends and family will want for their Christmas dinner, plan where everything will go. Just because your kitchen is small doesn't mean you have to skimp on your Christmas dinner or any other dinner for that matter. Make a spot for all the canned food and all the fresh foods as well. If you have a small refrigerator you may want to clean it out before you start planning this massive meal so that you will have a place for all the extra food.
- Limit the number of small appliances you leave on your counter-top during the holidays. If you don't use these appliances on a daily basis, find a spot for them under the counter or inside a cabinet. This will help to free up some cooking space for the holidays.
- If you have special dishes you plan to use for your Christmas guests, go ahead and get those out and set them on the table. This will free up some cabinet space for any extra food you may need to store for a few weeks.
- Plan to have extra tables set up in another room besides your kitchen where folks can walk past and get food off of buffet style. This will help to guide people out of your tiny kitchen and into another room that may have a bit more space available. Small card tables will also do the trick if you don't have enough room for a long table.
- If you have a crock pot or two, put them to use. These will help alleviate some of the pots and pans that might otherwise be needed. In fact, you can take all of your unused dishes and pots and pans into another room for storage just for the holiday and get them back out later when it is just you and your family again.
Try not to get too stressed out for the holiday season even if your kitchen is small. Enjoy what you have and don't worry too much about anything else. Make the most of the space you have available.
