Things To Do Huntsville: The Purdy Butterfly House
Be entertained by the turtles, stunning floral displays, and twelve native species of colorful butterflies at the Purdy Butterfly House, one of the largest butterfly houses in the country. In addition to the live plants and animals that call the Purdy Butterfly House home, giant sculptures of a honey bee and orchid add to the colorful display.
This beautiful, soaring 9000 sq. ft. natural stone and steel beam structure overlooking the entrance pond is home to thousands of native butterflies, tadpoles, frogs, button quail, turtles and other critters. Waterfall, ponds, streams, lush vegetation and flowering plants invite visitors to experience this varied and colorful collection of flora and fauna.
