The Huntsville Museum of Art Guild is proud to host Southern Blues: Music of the Soul to launch a unique exhibit by Tim Duffy entitled OUR LIVING PAST: A PLATINUM PORTRAIT OF MUSIC MAKERS. OUR LIVING PAST will feature images and instruments of Southern musical heroes and the world in which they live – promoting the enduring tradition of Southern roots music.
This exhibit brought to you by the Music Maker Relief Foundation immortalizes and educates its audience about Southern musical greats past and present. Tim Duffy's iconic photographs celebrates distinctive regional sound and styles with images of Blues Greats like Taj Mahal, Grammy nominated Sharon Jones, and other lessor known musical greats like Lena Mae Perry, Gospel Leader and Martha Spencer, Appalachian Musician.
Southern Blues is an immersion into our rich Southern Culture; a night where attendees will enjoy a complete sensory experience of New Orleans, Memphis, and the Mississippi Delta through art, food, music and drink.
In addition to a vast array of southern cuisine, your ticket includes bourbon tasting, local craft beers and wine. Live music from Blues Prodigy Christone "Kingfish" Ingram will set the tone for a truly unique evening that you will not want to miss.
