Labor Day Fun in Huntsville AL!
Labor Day is on September 3
rd, and for many that means a day off to enjoy time with family. But do you know why Labor Day even exists? Annually celebrated on the first Monday in September, it was created by the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American worker. We celebrate the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. There are a lot of fun events going on in and around Huntsville all of Labor Day weekend:
Huntsville Botanical Gardens Events – You don't have to wait until Monday to celebrate at The
Huntsville Botanical Garden! It will be open every day of Labor Day weekend. Come see the ongoing Gardens of Myth exhibit, or have fun at the Scarecrow Breakfast & Festival at the opening of the Scarecrow Trail. Breakfast, activities and hayrides will be available from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Admission for non-members is $23 for adults and $16 for kids.
Battle for Decatur Reenactment – If you are a history buff, this is the event for you! This annual Civil War reenactment is held at
Point Mallard Park and this year takes place on September 1 and 2 at 2:00 PM. More than 200 reenactors will participate and visitors will be able to see authentic equipment, clothing and drills.
Caribbean Day at the Park – Enjoy kids' activities, face painting, live music, food, games and more at the 13
th Annual Caribbean Day at the Park on September 2 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This fun event will be held at
Stoner Field Park in Huntsville. While entrance to the park is free, there will be food to purchase and fees for activities.
Art in the Park – Join us in Scottsboro, AL on Sunday, September 2, 2018 for Art in the Park! From 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Art in the Park will present everything from fine art to kids' crafts along with plenty of food, fun and festivities.
