Huntsville Museum Of Art Remembers Neil Armstrong
This just in from the
Huntsville Times:
The Huntsville Museum of Art is commemorating the memory of astronaut Neil Armstrong by hanging the Andy Warhol piece, "Moonwalk," in the museum's lobby, 300 Church St. The work is part of the museum's permanent collection and represents Buzz Aldrin, one of the three astronauts, including Armstrong, who were aboard Apollo 11.
Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon in the historic landing on July 20, 1969. He became famous for the walk as well as saying "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," as he took his first step on the lunar surface.
The Warhol work will be on view only through Sept. 16 due to light exposure where it's hanging.
