Harvest / Monrovia
Harvest and Monrovia are suburbs located NW of Huntsville. Many people choose this area because of its' highly sought after schools and easy commute to Research Park, Redstone Arsenal and NASA using Research Park Boulevard. Monrovia has a desirable school system, nice subdivisions, and is close to shopping. Harvest is slightly further away from Huntsville. However, it offers more affordable homes.
Shopping, Dining, and Entertainment
All neighborhoods in this area are conveniently located 5 to 15 minutes from Huntsville and Madison City shopping. Lowe's, Home Depot, Publix, Kohl's, and many more shops and businesses are located on 72 west.
Parks and Recreation
Phillips Park offers baseball, softball, and soccer fields, which are part of the Monrovia Parks and Recreation Department. The Monrovia Community Center has a gym for basketball and volleyball leagues. There is also a public library.
The Harvest/Monrovia area has desirable subdivisions with large lots not found in many neighboring communities. Its' homes come in a variety of styles and sizes including several farms and estate homes that line its' roadways. Additionally, it houses Capshaw Mountain, a focal point for the Monrovia area, which is becoming a hot spot for an upscale housing development.
This area is part of the Madison County School System. It has many elementary schools including: Monrovia Elementary, Legacy Elementary, Endeavor Elementary, and Harvest Elementary School. The other schools in the area are Monrovia Middle School and Sparkman High School.
